Sending Church Prayer Wall

The depiction of Isaiah 6 through the Mercy Me song “Send Me” says, “I want to proclaim the love of Jesus in all I do and say UNASHAMED! Whom shall I send, who will go for me, to the ends of the earth who will rise up for their king…Here am I! Send Me!”

That song and verse pretty much describes our sending story. God has always given us a desire to GO…whether that be living in another country or another state. We both have had a desire to serve the Lord in a capacity that is unconventional whatever that looks like. Around January of 2009, we began feeling, I guess you could say “boxed in” and very restless with where we were and what we were doing. We were desiring to know what God’s desire was for us as a married couple, because we felt like we were just going through the motions of life and beginning to fall into the norms of what married people do and that was not ok with us! We decided that we were going to put our house on the market by the summer and try to have all of our loose ends tied up so we could be ready to go wherever and whenever we felt led without anything holding us back. In April, Pat did the “Yes” series and he talked about the Bangkok and Belgium initiatives. After that service we both just couldn’t stop thinking about Thailand. It was as if God was asking the question directly to us, “whom shall I send and will you go for me?” That week we put our “Yes” on the table and said we are willing to go.

I think we can overcomplicate God’s call many times. We have never been to the place we have committed to live for at least three years. It’s not about an emotional experience or attachment to a specific group of people or thing as much as it is being obedient and willing to step out in faith and say YES! All for God’s glory and His gospel to reach to the ends of the earth. It is crucial for us to have our church’s support. We are honored to be members of LifePoint Church and the Bangkok team!
